Ketogenic Diet Starves Cancer

An example of a ketogenic diet menu - A ketogenic diet should have a calorie ratio of 4:1 meaning, fat should equal 80% and carbs plus protein should equal 20%. It should raise ketone body levels to the point of testing positive with urine test strips. However, it is not really recommended that you count the calories or try so hard to reach a urinary ketone level.

There are many reasons to consider a ketogenic diet. The most obvious is to promote the aforementioned fat burning properties. Several studies have shown that the diet is effective for many trial participants. Some physicians also recommend a ketogenic diet to treat epilepsy in children.


You might have heard the term “brain food” used to describe food that’s good for you. Doctors at Mayo Clinic say there really is a diet that benefits the brain.
